Discipline. Happy Mornings. Being Spring. New Guitar.

It has only been recently we actually have to discipline sweet Lydia. The "time out" just appeared one day. This tends to work, Lydia doesn't like being sent to her room to think about what she's done. She always (finally) returns with an apology for the wrong she's done. Mostly, she is punished for not listening. Our greatest challenge so far. But, every once in a while our little devil child asks for it. She has actually said, "I want a time out." when she knows she's doing something wrong.
But, in perfect partnership with our frustrating little Lydia came the most positively glorious child as well. It could be springtime, I don't know, but Lydia has been so beyond sweet and yummy. She wakes up adorable and happy, she brushes her teeth and hair without protest, she says things like, "Mama, you look perfect!". We have been outside so much recently I truly think she's grateful.
The other day, Chandler said, "Lydia, if you eat 8 pieces of chicken, you can watch Spongebob." and Lydia said, "OK, that sounds wonderful.". I took the two kids for a hard walk up the hill and to the park. We had trouble fitting the new double stroller through the gate/fence into the woodsy pathway to the park, but I made it fit. When we pushed through, Lydia exclaimed, "Mama, I'm so proud of you!". She's my hero.

And our Garnet Ace is just as content as ever. Growing like a boy does, I guess and adoring his sister. I think his first word will be "Lydia".
Pictures for her book jacket or album cover...

Lydia's new guitar. Green, like her cousin Portia's.
Some outside time at Breakheart with Jess and Sadie.

The wonderful mess and proximity of children.

Reading.
More outside. At MooMoo's park.
Garnet's dimple. Look on his right lower cheek (your left).
Lydia has her own basket of goodies to play with at MooMoo's. The basket gets bigger every visit.

The Easter egg coloring extravaganza with MooMoo and Great Gram.

Lydia brought her guitar to MooMoo's but she wouldn't play and sing for anyone EXCEPT Great Gram. She called her into the other room for a private show.

This is what's happening at the home.

This video is a little long, but please hang in there. Lydia is an original.

Mostly Pictures, Stories and Movies Soon

Last night I picked out Lydia's jammies, the blue ones with colorful hearts all over them, and she very genuinely said, "That's AWESOME!".

I've been so lax with updates, so forgive the jumping around.

We visited Kempo and Nan in Providence. It was the first beautiful, Spring weekend so we were able to play outside in a nearby park and we even went to the zoo. Lydia and Garnet's first trip to the zoo! I don't have any/many good pictures of the zoo trip, but Lydia still likes to tell people about the elephants building sand castles and waving their trunks to say hello to her, she tells about the mama, daddy and baby giraffe family, she tells about the pink birds with the long necks that walked right up to her ("mingos" as she calls them).

Super park day.
A couple zoo pics. A snake and the "mingos".

Reading with Kempo. I love how she postured herself sitting along his leg.

Some cute, early morning pictures in the kitchen.

Dreamy girl with her just washed curls.

Peek-a-boo and playing under the table.

Mama and Lydia faces in our under-the-table fort.

Lydia helps Garnet with tummy time. She is very encouraging.

HAPPY BABY!

We CAN all fit in the picture, I swear.

Peace baby.

Siblings.

Lydia is a good mama, snuggling up and reading to her baby.
